MACERATA

Biogas Cogenerator & Biogas To Biomethane

The Macerata biogas plant was connected to the electricity grid in 2012 and was Viridis Energia’s first step into the world of energy production from organic biomass, with an environmental sustainability certificate.

The plant underwent a revamping plan in 2019 in order to comply with further authorisation requirements, and the conversion to bio-methane is planned to start in 2024. The supply chain of the plant uses agricultural crops and by-products of organic origin from local farms.
