VIRIDIS ENERGIA was founded in 2010 for initiating an important industrial development project in the renewable energy sector..

FOUNDATION

Viridis Energia S.r.l. is founded in June 2010 as a joint venture between Echidna S.p.A. and La.Gì. Energia 2006 S.r.l., with the ambitious aim of becoming a leading player in the renewable energy sector.

CONNECTION OF THE ROVIGO PLANT

On 23 November 2010, the photovoltaic plant based in Rovigo is linked to the national power grid; with an installed power of roughly 70.5 MWp, the plant is currently Italy's largest photovoltaic facility. Viridis becomes a minority shareholder, together with First Reserve, Partners Group and Sunedison.

COMPLETION OF THE FIRST 5 PV PLANTS TOTALLING 5.0 MWP

Siemens S.p.A. completes the first stage of the project as EPC contractor, consisting of 5 plants totalling 5.0 MWp.

CONNECTION OF A FURTHER 7 PV PLANTS TOTALLING 14* MWP

Siemens S.p.A. completes the second stage of the project as EPC contractor, consisting of 7 plants totalling 14.0 MWp.

CONNECTION OF A FURTHER 3 PV PLANTS TOTALLING 3.0 MWP

Siemens S.p.A. completes the third stage of the project as EPC contractor, consisting of 3 plants totalling 3.0 MWp.

START OF THE BIOENERGY DEVELOPMENT PROJECT

An important development plan focusing on the bioenergy cell sector, particularly agricultural biogas, gets under way.

PRESENTATION OF THE FIRST VBIO PROJECT

The first project for setting up an agricultural biogas plant is deposited at the relevant bodies.

AUTHORISATION OF THE FIRST TWO BIOGAS PLANTS

The first two biogas plants, VBIO 1 and VBIO 2, are authorised with an Integrated Environmental Permit.

COMMISSIONING OF THE BIOGAS PLANTS

The first two biogas plants, VBIO 1 and VBIO 2, are successfully completed and commissioned.

VIRIDIS INTERNATIONAL IS FOUNDED

Viridis International, a company specialising in the development of important international projects in the renewable energy sector, is founded.

Feb 2014

ENTRY INTO THE PHOTOVOLTAIC POWER SECONDARY MARKET

The so-called 'Incentive-Deferring Decree' (Spalma Incentivi) creates a discontinuity in the sector, driving photovoltaic energy operators to merge: Viridis initiates an ambitious acquisition plan on the secondary market.
